At the end of 2024, we wondered: Is method dressing over<\/em><\/a>? In 2025, celebrities (and their stylists) answered with a resounding no.<\/p>\n

This year, there was no shortage of celebrities whose promotional duties extended to their outfits. To nobody\u2019s surprise, Ariana Grande<\/a> and Cynthia Erivo<\/a> continued their Wicked<\/em> streak, finishing out two years of sartorial storytelling as Glinda and Elphaba.<\/p>\n

Some actors went big with their references. Jodie Turner-Smith<\/a> pulled Schiaparelli\u2019s motherboard dress in honor of Tron: Ares<\/em>, while Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/a> promoted his BDSM rom-com Pillion<\/em> by going full leather daddy\u2014including a pair of thigh-high leather Saint Laurent boots. Jacob Elordi<\/a>, meanwhile, took a subtler approach in a Frankenstein<\/em> graphic sweater.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s really just to name a few. Throughout 2025, Jenna Ortega<\/a>, Lindsay Lohan<\/a>, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Julia Garner,<\/a> Sydney Sweeney,<\/a> and Naomi Watts<\/a> all used their fashion to highlight their onscreen work.<\/p>\n

While Emerald Fennell\u2019s forthcoming film is already stirring up conversation thanks to its surprising costumes<\/a>, Margot Robbie and stylist Andrew Mukamal are already plotting a fashion fantasia for the press tour. \u201cThe couture shows are in January. So we can see what comes out of that,\u201d Robbie told British Vogue<\/a>.<\/em> Maybe, if we\u2019re lucky, co-star Jacob Elordi will break out the cravat again<\/a>.<\/p>\n
