Marty Supreme<\/em> and I Love LA<\/em> breakout star Odessa A\u2019zion is laying those wig allegations to rest. Speaking on the red carpet at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, the actor addressed the heightened online discourse regarding her hair. Is it extensions? A wig? A perm? God\u2019s gift?<\/p>\n

For the starry night (and start of awards season), A\u2019zion stepped out in a custom silver embellished Ott Dubai gown, with a high neck and swishy cut-out cape sleeves. Her raven-dark hair was coiffed in her now-signature, thick and curly lengths, corkscrew curls unspooling in every direction for extra drama and dimension.<\/p>\n

The last few months have proved star-defining for A\u2019zion, with turns in both Rachel Sennot\u2019s I Love LA<\/em> as the chaotic influencer Talulah and as Rachel Mizler opposite Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet in Marty Supreme<\/em>. For both parts, A\u2019zion\u2019s undulating curls have caught the internet\u2019s fixation. Comparisons have been made to images of A\u2019zion as a teenager, where her hair was appeared finer and relaxed.<\/p>\n

When Deadline<\/em> asked her about the internet\u2019s current obsession as to whether she\u2019s with or without wig, the star replied, \u201cI\u2019ve been told about that. There\u2019s a whole debate, \u2018Is it a wig? Is it not?\u2019 I guess we\u2019ll never know. No\u2026I\u2019m kidding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gag is,\u201d A\u2019zion continued, \u201cthe LA premiere [of Marty Supreme<\/em>] was a wig, and [for] the New York premiere, it took me five hours to do my hair, and everyone thinks it\u2019s a wig.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cYou think I can afford a wig like that and wear it all the time? Those are so expensive. I\u2019ve heard wigs can go up to like twenty-, or thirty-thousand dollars. Are you fucking kidding me? I don\u2019t even have a hair, makeup, or stylist because I\u2019m trying to save my money. Maybe one day.\u201d<\/p>\n

As shown below, when she did<\/em> actually wear a wig, A\u2019zion wore a sharp Marc Jacobs suit sans shirt, with the wig styled swept over to the side, curls much looser and sleek. Its length, too, was much shorter, at her clavicles. It felt much more \u201950s in vibe, \u00e0 la Marty Supreme<\/em>.<\/p>\n
