One of these children is Holly Wheeler, played by Nell Fisher, whom Max shepherds through Vecna\u2019s mental maze as she tries to reunite with her motley crew (who are also trying to outfox Vecna). \u201c<em>Stranger Things<\/em> has always been big on unlikely pairings,\u201d says Sink of her plotline, \u201cand Max and Holly are no exception.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By the end of Episode 6, Max is back with Eleven and the boys, including her love interest Lucas, played by McLaughlin\u2014a touching moment. \u201cMax runs through her portal from Vecna\u2019s alter-world, and wakes up in Lucas\u2019 arms,\u201d Sink says. \u201cThat reunion was one of my favorite things to film. At that point, I hadn\u2019t acted with any of my usual cast mates\u2014at least not consciously\u2014so it was really naturally emotional. Shakespeare has always fascinated me as a challenge, and <em>Romeo &#038; Juliet<\/em> is one of the most famous stories in the world. It\u2019s endlessly adaptable. It felt like a meaningful thing to take on, as I close the <em>Stranger<\/em> <em>Things<\/em> chapter.\u201d She adds: \u201cI\u2019m in a learning phase right now. I don\u2019t have a list of dream roles\u2014I just want to be challenged, and to keep growing.\u201d Sink has also been cast in an as-yet-undisclosed role in <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em>, the next film in the live-action Marvel franchise starring Tom Holland and Zendaya. \u201cI had a good time\u2014that\u2019s everything I\u2019ll say,\u201d Sink tells me with a twinkle in her eye.<\/p>\n<p>As the conversation comes to a close\u2014surely one of the final <em>Stranger Things<\/em> interviews Sink will do\u2014her mood turns reflective. \u201cWhat I\u2019ll always think about most from this show are the friendships,\u201d Sink says. \u201cI feel like childhood friendships can fade as you get older. You\u2019re together in school, then you move on. But with us, that didn\u2019t happen. We always had the show bringing us back together, so those bonds just grew stronger. It\u2019s rare to have people in your life who\u2019ve seen you through so many chapters, watched you grow up, and helped shape who you are. I know these people will be in my life forever, and that\u2019s such a gift to receive at such a young age.
